Jeff joined the MSL team in 2017. Prior to joining, Jeff was Director of Facilities and Safety Officer at Illinois Valley Community Hospital (IVCH). His areas of responsibility included: Safety, Maintenance, Security, Bio Medical, and Construction Management. During his time with IVCH, the organization doubled in square footage to over 600,000 square feet, with multiple off campus locations. Jeff lead the organization in matters of Environment of Care, Life Safety, Security, Medical Equipment, and Emergency Management compliance.
Since 1980, Jeff has been active in Healthcare Facilities Management developing partnerships with other facilities and agencies to create a network of information and resources. He has developed Operational Plans for multiple facility departments and has completed over $60M in Construction Projects.
Jeff also serves in capacities within the community, local and state agencies for Emergency Management Planning, and has served as Chairman of the Local County Emergency Planning Committee (LCEPC) since 2011.
In 2004, Jeff helped with the re-construction of ASHE’s local chapter, Healthcare Engineers Society of Northern Illinois, serving as a Charter Member and Executive Board Member, then Chapter President in 2006.
Jeff has served on and held leadership roles on ASHE Committees including: Facilities Management, Advocacy, and CHFM Task Force. He was awarded the ASHE Region 5 Regional Leader Award in 2005. He served on the ASHE Board as Region 5 Director from 2006-2008. Jeff served as the 2012 ASHE President. He also designed the new model ASHE uses for Strategic Initiatives.
Jeff has been published in Inside ASHE and Health Facilities Management.
Jeff completed 4 years with the ASHE Institute for leadership training; then, upon completion, wrote a Business Plan proposing the addition of a 5th year to the program. He is an ASHE Fellow, Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC), and a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP).
