Robert Guerry joined MSL in 2016. He has over 32 years of experience in facilities management of large academic medical centers. In leadership roles, he has been responsible for facilities strategic planning, organizational structure, disaster preparedness, construction services, budgeting and capital planning. He has also been responsible for medical research facilities and has a wealth of experience in managing critical and high security laboratories and vivariums. One of his main areas of focus has been to improve operational efficiency while improving facility conditions.
Robert has been active in the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association (NCHEA) serving in leadership roles and committees. He also served on founding committees for Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM: ASHE), Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP: ASHRAE), and Operations and Performance Management Professional (OPMP: ASHRAE) to develop criteria and test questions for certification. He was ASHE president in 2004.
Robert has a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Elon University where he has also taught Business Operations and Supply Chain Management classes. He is a registered professional engineer in South Carolina and North Carolina.
